Each of our day care centers is equipped with the following:
Self-Sufficient Classrooms
Our goal is to provide your child with a safe and nurturing environment that allows for play, exploration and fun. Each classroom is fully equipped for the various activities in our daily schedule.
Play Time- Each classroom has age appropriate toys and a specified play area.
Meal Time- For Breakfast, Lunch & Snack Times, we have designated meal tables.
Bathroom Breaks- Every classroom has it’s own bathroom and sink area for quick and easy access.
Kitchen & Food Programs
We serve Rocking Horse kids high quality meals so they can grow up to be big and strong! No child deserves to go without, and our food program ensures that calorie requirements are met with nourishing foods that kids love.
CACFP Meal Plan- Nutritious, well balanced meals are provided for breakfast, lunch and snacks. Our menus provide for daily requirements for Vitamins A & C, as well as other nutrients.
Weekly Menus- Updated menus are posted weekly on the wall outside of the kitchen.
Infants Nutrition- Similac Advanced Formula, rice & oatmeal cereals, and stage 2 baby food is provided at no additional cost for all infants.
Full Sized Athletics Gym
Each facility has its own athletics gym. This area is frequently used for play time and extra curricular activities.
Full Sized Indoor Court- Each indoor gym has a full sized court for various sports and play.
A/C & Heat- Our gyms are heated and air conditioned, allowing for optimal fun all year round!
The Climbing Gym- Our Splendora Center has a full sized climbing gym inside, providing a safe and fun outlet for children to explore and play.
Playgrounds & Play Areas
Each of our facilities are located on over one acre of land, and each has a unique play area. This means our kids have the space they need to run and play.
Pool & Swim Lessons
We also have a fenced in, underground swimming pool at every center. During the Texas summers, there are plenty of pool days on the event calendar, and private swim lessons are offered to our potty trained kids.
Private Pool- Our pools are not open to the community. Only Rocking Horse kids have access.
Lifeguards- Certified lifeguards are on duty during all swim times.
Foundations- Swim lessons take place 1 on 1 while the foundations are being built. Group lessons are available for more experienced swimmers.
Nap Time
Nap Time is an important part of our daily routine at the day care. All children five years and younger are required to participate.
Personal Cots- Cots are provided by the center to every child.
Bedding from home- Bedding may be brought from home. We ask that it be labeled with your child’s name, and be taken home every Friday for laundering.
Infants during nap time- All Rocking Horse Staff follow safe sleep recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome/Sudden Unexpected Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS/SUIDS).
Professional Transportation
Your child’s safety is of our highest priority. Professional transportation to and from school is provided to all Rocking Horse Day Care kids.
Professional School Busses- Every facility has it’s own full sized school bus for transportation to and from schools, as well as private field trips.
To, From, or Both- We’re happy to take your kids to school, pick them up from school, or both! However, we do not offer home pick ups or drop offs.
Permission Slips- Permission slips are required of all students participating in school transportation, or field trips.
Safety & Security
We know that the safety and security of your child is very important to you.
Secure Buildings- Only our staff and authorized persons are allowed access to our facilities, and valid photo identification is required for child pick up or interactions.
Highly Trained Staff- All employees are vetted through an extensive interview process and a criminal history check, and an FBI fingerprint scan. Each Employee is CPR & First Aid certified, and must maintain continuing education in Child Care Training.
Safety & Security- We have a monitored fire alarm & security system with security cameras throughout each facility. We practice fire drills, severe weather drills and safety drills regularly and have an active emergency preparedness plan for each of our day care centers.
Cleanliness- Rocking Horse uses hospital grade chemicals to clean our facilities. Professional exterminators inspect and clean our facilities monthly.
